Three or four layers of news: Muslims NOT suing Catholic U; pundit calls truthful names; dares to apply actual clean humor to sacred cows

Ben Crystal is one of those funny-named people who seem to abound nowadays with two characteristics: having a lot of good commentary to offer on the news, and lacing it with pure garbage of a familiarly neoconish sort. In the following delightfully fresh piece on some explosive subjects, though, I give him very marks!

The Lawyer, The Liberals And The Law

PLEASE READ IT.... it's good for what ails you. Surely it's startling that a man in his category would take up this category, number one -- i.e. refuting one of the many libels hurled at Moslems these days. I of course agree with him that Islam would never work for me, but this stuff about its adherents suing Catholic University for being too Catholic never rang true somehow, and anybody willing to stand up to the kind of journalistic (and legal) prostitution it represents deserves kudos and credit for it.

What he does with well-deserved invective is magnificent -- even daring to call the Obamas filth!!! It's not insult or defamation if it's TRUE, and by God, it IS. I'm telling you, such honesty is one of the main ingredients lacking in the whole "conservative" field today. People will freely huff things in conversation that they'll never dare to write -- for some inexplicable reason!

Forensically speaking, Crystal falls down on only two comparatively minor counts: "Freaking" in is second paragraph is what you call a "minced oath" or lame euphemism for "the F-word". And of course Obama is not the "President" -- an easy mistake to make when all institutions around us repeat it incessantly (as if trying to will it into reality), but one we all need to guard against ever using.

Of course, I also call for everybody to stop calling leftwingers "liberals". That will be a taller order since this one-word lie is buried so very deeply into the public consciousness. But it does need to be addressed; hey, it's hard to find any mention of socialism, abortioneering etc. in definitions provided by even the communist Wikipedia and rather modernistic dictionary.com! This page

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberal

.....starts off with a link to this one

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_liberalism

.....which could be a lot better but could be a lot worse. This accounting,
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/liberal

.....while mediocre, is still considerably far from the loony-left mess the L-word normally conjures for most people. If you want to know what the word liberal really means, or at least did before it got mauled beyond recognition, look at your local paleo-conservative -- me, for instance!

Just kidding -- the final word on this, as everything else, can be gleaned from the Scriptures:

The Holy Bible: King James Version. 2000.
The Book of the Prophet Isaiah -- 32
http://www.bartleby.com/108/23/32.html
4 The heart also of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly.
5 The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful.
6 For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry; and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
7 The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right.
8 But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.

More on that rich subject as we go!

Don't miss Mr. Crystal's zesty, right-on biographical note. Apparently he's some kind of Southerner -- no huge surprise when researching any appreciably right-of-center pundit. Anybody out there know him?

VoilĂ , my review of his review of a troublesome "news" item -- in hopes of spurring others to dialectical thought, analysis, warfare and excellence.
