The despicable OECD; SC politics and The Nerve reach Panama

Some of you know that I dream of having the wherewithal to escape the "Untied States" for some other less corrupt country. It's hard o imagine ever doing so, but various countries' strengths and weaknesses are an endlessly fascinating and useful study in themselves. Among other things, they show exactly what ameriKa used to be and, in the process, how far we've run from the sane, orderly, relatively more decent and stable life we once knew as a society.
Another real benefit -- not to say a pleasant one at all -- is finding out just how much trouble the USA is causing the rest of the world. Sure, they're smashing one country to smithereens vaguely east of the Mediterranean Sea these years. Even Somalia, which we've bludgeoned at least twice, fits this category -- perhaps as a decoy against accusations that they only care about Israel's near and less near neighbors?
And sure, ameriKa is the mainstay and host of the endlessly troublemaking UN, the IMF and other dogooder agencies that run around accidentally messing poor countries over "out of the best intentions". But how stunning it can be to find out how busy the USA is trying to totally ruin life in other "first-world" countries out of such blatant motivations as greed, envy, raw wantonness and stark perversity!
This is displayed never more clearly than via a look at the typically benign and goodly-sounding "Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development" or OECD. It's actually headquartered in France, but -- surprise! -- it "was formed in 1948 to administer American and Canadian aid in the framework of the Marshall Plan for the reconstruction of Europe after World War II" (Wikipedia).
And everywhere you look, this rabble's true, ugly colors are seen: its main function seems to be destroying financial privacy and further forcing a "fishbowl" existence on citizens of "first world" countries! It strongarms countries like Uruguay to give up something miraculous for which they've long been celebrated: their status as a mecca for bank secrecy and financial privacy. Ever notice how leftists scream about a right to privacy for themselves but want to destroy it for everybody else?
An especially good "offshore" oriented group that's come my way is
Prima Panama Blogs due to its frank, well-rounded reporting on that country's life and politics. Its "warts and all" approach to the subject is not shared by other organizations seeking to guide those in search ofreliefe from ameriKan decadence and rapacity -- indeed, as Panama and other countries have crumbled and truckled before OECD-style threats, other expat trainers have run for cover, giving up their previous politically-incorrect focuses for straight investment advising (ho hum), urging people to dutifully lay bare their entire financial life before the IRS etc.!
Couple of interesting things for our purposes in today's free Prima Panama email tableau. One, a video on the evils of the OECD which is short but jam-packed, shocking but professional and perfect for you to redeploy all over the place. In fact, if this brief show doesn't sum up the real thrust of the first-world political mafia, I don't know what does. A big Patriot Network tie-in: OECD is all about piling more, more, higher, more brazen TAXES on Americans.... and citizens of many other "have" countries!

As to the pges GOP headline, we don't advise holding your breath.

Next, Prima Panama takes a look at The Nerve's report on a rather odd mission undertaken by some South Carolina notables:

http://primapanama.blogs.com/_panama_residential_devel/2011/01/sc-port-authority-in-hot-water-over-panama-trip.html

It's no surprise that politicians find reasons to take official jaunts to tropical getaways. And we have known at least two folks on this one -- Rep. Harry Cato and Sen. Larry Grooms -- to have done some first-rate work as legislators.
We don't doubt their integrity re the Panama trip (notably, Sen. Grooms is the only one mentioned as reimbursing the state for his expenses). What is dismaying is that a high Chamber of Commerce official went along, apparently at state expense. I call them Chambers of Communism and pray for the day the public awakes to these bodies' real nature.
Also in Prima's news roundup today were a commentary by respected Panama attorney Eduardo Morgan casting doubt on Wikileaks' accusations about drug-running in his country, and a feature aimed at Panama-based expats titled "What the IRS wants to know about you". It's always good to see people trying to connect the politically and economically oppressed with relief they richly deserve, especially outside the USA, traditional home of freedom seekers and strategists.
