No tax, no blessing: German church insists on levy

I'd like to know where in the Bible it says to have Caesar pass the collection plate. Wonder what percentage "he" is keeping in the process! Isn't it remarkable that the land of Luther (plus other European countries liberated by his work) should accept such an arrangement -- for so long a time?

A college classmate of mine spent a semester doing church music in Germany (his ancestral country) and did a talk on it when he returned. It was just fine with him that organists get paid whether anybody attends services or not. I believe pews have been virtually empty in Western Europe for decades; the above article mentions baptisms, weddings and funerals, and reportedly that's about the only time most people darken a church door over there. They're what we call the "hatch, match and dispatch" element.

In the USA we have the crazy phenomenon of the "separation of church and state". Aliens from another planet might take that to mean that churches have a right to preach, teach and do what they please without interference from government, but in the real world it's the exact opposite: the government and its propaganda arm (the "mainstream" media) constantly hack away at Christianity while working tirelessly to promote and favor other beliefs.

Separation of church and state..... what a beautiful phrase. Let's try it sometime! Under common law churches are "immune" from even being contacted by government unless there's some kind of real wrongdoing. As it is, most churches of any size are IRS volunteer-work centers, gouging staff members' paychecks for the Beast and cracking the whip on any that prefer to do their own bookkeeping and tax-paying as they have every right to.

Yes, when an entity (whether Microsoft, the fedgov, or a country Church o' Gawd seating 50 on a good day) demands a Socialist Surveillance Number as a condition of employment or sends a chunk of your pay to the tax goons before you even receive it, it is an IRS volunteer work center. Secretaries and treasurers are hired to manage these entities own affairs, but the entitles, being brainwashed denizens of communist ameriKa, just go with the inane flow, weekly skinning employees anew for the tax goons at no charge to them. Many churches proudly profess to live by the "Lordship of Jesus Christ", but just try to get them under his real dominion. Preachers would lose their tax breaks and treasurers would have heart attacks worrying what the IRS was going to do to them for cutting off the gravy train! This is supposed to be a free country, but most people live in absolute terror of "public servants".

By accepting tax exemption, churches willingly make themselves creatures and wards of the state. In incorporating they join Christ's body to that of a prostitute. Both this and the German systems are great ways to totally eclipse true religion.
