The "voluntary" factor twisted beyond all belief.... and recognition

MSNBC analyst believes submitting to theft at gunpoint is 'voluntary'

What an insane, crazy jerk! But don't laugh -- Steele is articulating the foolosophy of tyranny, where (cf. Lewis Carroll's Queen of Hearts) words mean whatever politicians want them to mean -- at a given moment -- and (cf. Orwell) it becomes the warped, twisted DNA of the new Bizarro way of life.

To sane people not in the hire of said order and any dictionary worthy of the name, voluntary will always mean voluntary and mandatory will always mean mandatory. Where did this elegant fool go to college? I'd just love to know exactly where people like him come by the statist dementia. Do they give budding politicians a course in the deep concerns of sane people and what berserk twaddle to shoot them down with?

The interviewer, Jan Helfeld, gets an A+ for concept but a B- for execution. Once you realize you're talking to a madman you don't give him 10 chances to spew the same gibberish!

It is very refreshing to see the voluntary issue aired anew, though -- isn't it?
