Poor penniless presidents

And now for the extreme of politicians posing as persons of pecunious paucity! You may know that this editor is interested in escaping what's become of ameriKa with a move to the far South. This just in on one of the countries he's "following" most avidly.

But what's the angle? When Teddy Kennedy killed poor Mary Jo Kopechne, the family was told he could only pay them $10,000 because he had not money and no assets to speak of, not even the shoes on his feet. This was the literal truth -- the fat cats have trusts and corporations to own their stuff. So, we suspect Uruguayan President Mujica is (as they say nowadays) being disingenuous or nuancing the truth with the statements you're about to read.
Watch again The Famous Clarkson Interviews on the Brian Wilson show ($30 ppd) where RBC lists U.S. presidents who publicly admit to paying no taxes. They have ways of hiding their stuff -- they have ways.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/southamerica/uruguay/7805405/Uruguay-presidents-entire-assets-a-VW-Beetle.html

Uruguayan President Jose Mujica has declared that his entire wealth is nothing more than a 1987 Volkswagen Beetle.

The 75-year-old president's sworn statement, made public this week, shows Mr Mujica has no debt – or savings – and does not own any other property.

Mr Mujica's presidential salary is £8,000 per month, but he donates most of that to the ruling leftist coalition and a public housing programme.....
