What “Fighting for Our Freedom” Actually Means in Police State USA?
http://thefreethoughtproject.com/fighting-freedom-police-state-usa/

#1, My only desire in posting this is the point out the real dynamics of this age of real and imagined terror.

#2. I've never gone along with putting a question mark at the end of a mere clause that superficially looks like a question, as in the above headline. An implied sentence, perhaps, but as they've got it it's cringeworthy.

I'm illustrious company in opposing all "war" against people not actually threatening me personally. The Lindberghs, the Founding Fathers and numerous respected thinkers and analysts today are in this category -- presumably including anybody who writes for lewrockwell.com.

Arabs and Moslems have never harmed me, except in taking advantage of the systematic destruction of our borders like the all other Third Worlders are doing. If American soldiers want to save us from them, why not come home and put the screws on Congress and the border patrol to put a stop to that?

There I go again, contrasting the abstract and distant with the immediate. But, as the article says, the establishment's ironclad focus on far-flung Big Ideas is a total disaster.

9/11 was a clear inside job, but even if these "wars" were aimed at redressing it, all people of normal reflexes warned that that was disastrous notion. The lie of the concept was revealed immediately when (shortly after the Big Muddy was entered), Bush and his neocon demons were yammering about "nation building" (as if there were no nations over there already) and "bringing democracy" to Afghanistan et al.

It's true about terrorism by the feds and other government bodies. Of course this "war on terror" (an emotion) is really a war OF terror against people who've never harmed us unprovoked, but stateside governments are terrorizing and terrifying their own constituents -- us, the people. For daily updates, see libertycrier.com and freedomsphoenix.com, et  al. An alarming percent of incidents happens at the police vs. citizen level, not just the also infamous IRS vs. citizen one.

If you don't know anybody whose life has been ruined by IRS, police or the various government levels between them, you certainly will before much longer.... Whoa, this just in this very minute:

THE TROOPS ARE DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY

by
The mindset that is common to U.S. troops serving overseas is that they are all doing it for America, for us, for our rights and  freedoms, for our safety and security. They’ll all tell you that they are doing it because they love their country.
There’s one big problem with that mindset, however. The truth is that the troops, through what they’re doing over there, are indirectly destroying our country, our rights and freedoms, our safety and security, and our economic well-being.
Ever since 9/11 and even before, the troops have been killing and maiming people in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan, and elsewhere in the Middle East. The numbers of people killed and maimed reach into the hundreds of thousands. Only a very tiny minority of those who have been killed or maimed had anything to do with 9/11 attacks. Most of the people killed or maimed just wanted to rid their lands of U.S. troops and U.S. bureaucrats or just happened to be near someone who was being targeted by the troops.....

Of course I disagree that any meaningful number of "gentile" Mideasterners had anything to do with 9/11. Of course the rationale for most of the "war" has been that we've got to chase Al-Qaeda from country to country to make sure they don't strike again, and who cares if we leave total destruction and death behind. We're us, right? Pride goeth not only on a bumper sticker, but before a fall.....
