Honestly, now -- I've been trying for a week to shake off the impression that the alleged pictures of the shooter were not of the same person. They got away with such a switcheroo in the supposed assassination of Gaddafi -- and how many other cases? This time, of course, the goal is to make him look as nutty and crazed as possible, sort of like Norman Bates in the end of Hitchcock's film Psycho. They do that for people, partly via Hollywood sensation and shock.
As Manny points out, the key to the whole thing is that the town in which the shootings took place was officially a gun-free zone. It's been pointed out here and on similar cases that if degenerates knew it was likely there were weapons all around them there'd be a lot less bloodshed.
There's a fable in which a leftwinger is loudly disclaiming her opposition to gun ownership and calling for laws requiring that guns all be turned in for destruction. Somebody asks "Are you therefore ready to put a sign on the front of your house stating "This is a gun-free zone. There are no weapons here?" Whereupon the zealot simply throws a fit.
Wouldn't you say that any town or county that bans guns is in the same position -- decreeing to the world that there will be no armed resistance among the people to any takeover or invasion? Crime certainly shot up and became more brazen in England and Australia when those feckless, hapless countries instituted gun bans, but I doubt that leftists have learned a thing from that experience,.
