Policy Council calls for SC to break from the D.C. behemoth; MORE ON RON

South Carolina Policy Council -- it's the kind of name that conjures up bureaucracies with big budgets and small brains. But the SCPC is not of that ilk. It has for 26 years calling for fiscal and political sanity for the PN's home state. I've received a mailer from them that is most refreshing. Clearly carrying echoes of what we, the people are talking about these days, it daringly calls for SC to "DECLARE INDEPENDENCE" from Washington, DC. Great idea -- the relationship has been twisted and sick for many, many years. Leftists, it says, "are determined to use the lure of federal tax dollars to coerce the states to adopt the politics the leftists want them to adopt. "Granted, this didn't start with the current administration. This has been going on at least since the days of FDR's New Deal. And it has occurred with both major political parties in charge. "But it has gotten exponentially worse over the past three years. And it's time to declare our independence from federal coercion!....... "Care to guess what percentage of South Carolina's budget passed last year is dependent on federal dollars? Ten Twenty percent? Thirty percent?!! "No! The state budget passed and signed into law last year depends on federal dollars for an obscene 38.5 percent of the budget! "That's a staggering $8.43 billion in federal tax dollars." The letter goes on to point out that this money doesn't fall from the sky out of nowhere with no strings attached. (Any money government has, it takes from somebody on pain of something horrible.) It adds an angle I hadn't thought off -- when the inevitable day arrives that the fedgov goes bust, it will mean (at the very least) a drop 38% of the funds this state operates on. But of course there is also the "favors" DC expects from anybody it throws money at, even if the money ultimately came from that entity. The mailer goes on to detail the activist resources its "DECLARE INDEPENDENCE from Washington DC" plan will offer. It mentions that thenerve.com, a site our Executive Director frequently shares via PN egroups, is a Council project. All told, it's good to know the group's working for us in Columbia. Check it out at SCPOLICYCOUNCIL.ORG/ .........Here's a RICH video on the Paul campaign and the zombie Stalin games anti-Paul GOPers are pulling against it. It's a few days old, but will remain current as long as the GOP is trying to serve as the Junior Dummacrat Party: Ben Swann Reality Check Half Hour Special- Delegates Ben looks back at the fight for delegates in the Republican primary and looks forward as he interviews 2 Ron Paul delegates, 1 from Maine and the other from Alaska. Ben Swann Reality Check Half Hour Special- Delegates http://youtu.be/347BJLhZkE4 Please don't miss the great ending!!! Again I apologize for the lack of formatting here. I've looked at the help videos on how to work in the new format but they say nothing about paragraph breaks, so it's a malfunction of some kind. /\/.\/\/.
