James Risen has been writing for the New York Times for many years. If you handle news, you've seen his byline often. This of course is no distinction in itself -- the Times is an evil, filthy, depraved, willing tool of global tyranny and exploitation.

What distinguishes him from the banal herd of "mainstream" media hacks is that he's actually shown some character and manhood in pursuing the original goal of journalism -- telling the public what the politicians don't want them to hear. Not to blink in a showdown with the most powerful (and evil) government in the world -- now that's what I call an American!

Even if he's only doing it in the name of the media-government complex's incestuous goals -- more "diversity", more "tolerance", more nonwhite faces all around you.
